
You have now reached your goal! You have opted for the lap band following significant planning lasting months or even years and considering all the information at hand. It’s a wonderful feeling to take that first step in changing something in your life from a negative to a positive. Having said that,the lap band surgery is not sufficient on its own to help you in getting to the desired weight. If you wish to succeed, you will need to take control of regular exercising and making the necessary changes in your food habits. In the journey from flab to fab, the following couple of points need to be considered.

One- IT REALLY IS ABOUT THE FOOD, EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT.
If you do not eat you will not get fat. A lot of the fat is from eating things that you should not be eating. It’s not that we must not eat many things but we should not eat them in huge quantities. Our 1st priority even before the lap band surgery should be to sit down and convince ourselves that we ARE going to change our eating habits in order to achieve what we set out to do in the 1st place. 2. With or without the lap band, exercise is critical for all people.

Most people don’t enjoy exercising, it’s a universal truth. Plump people in particular do not enjoy exercise but if you have gained extra ordinary weight then you must do something beyond ordinary to lose it. Take it slow and do something that you find enjoyable. The best exercise for getting started is walking. It’s easy to use and inexpensive. Walking with good shoes and a positive attitude will provide more benefits than just weight loss. If you enjoy going out to dance, then do it. Another suggestion is to put on your favorite music and dance everyday. When you start to feel stronger and more energetic and you will, add some resistance training to that. Begin doing a little bit of what you like to do each day. Make it habit and once you do, you’ll miss it when you have to skip a day.

3. Never forget that attitude is a huge part of the solution.
we know to eat healthy foods that are good for us, in moderation and we know to exercise a little everyday the glue that’s going to hold it all together is called “attitude.” For our long-term success, our attitudes and the way we feel is a major player. Positive reinforcement is paramount. Every morning when you get in front of your mirror and start your morning routine, tell yourself that this day you will keep your promise to yourself and do all the things you know you need to do in order to achieve your weight loss goal. Even with a lap band, its you and your attitude that are responsible in the end for making it work. Nobody else, just you and you can do it.
4. FINDING YOUR SUPPORT STRUCTURE.
Lap band or no lap band, friends and family are important. Surround yourself with positive people that will be there for you in thick and thin, this will help you reach your goals much faster. It’s always nice to be with people that are fun and you like being with. The more you move, the more you lose and when friends say, let’s go, then go. Inform your companions and family accurately what you wish to accomplish and join up there help. There will be those who try to sabotage your and once you realize who they are shy away from them until you feel strong enough to say no to their unhealthy eating habits.
All the things you have done, and everything that you are doing now, it is just for you. You made the decision to get the lap band, you’ve got it now and it’s up to you to do everything that u can to reshape not only your body, but your eating habits, exercise routines, attitudes and sometimes friends. Everything needs to work together for your overall good. This is your time, so dedicate time to yourself to ensure your success and maybe one day you can help someone else reach success too.
