There are quiet a few items that can compromise the Food safety standards of a restaurant. The items can be avoided when the owner watches his employees carefully. The items which compromise the public health and the business in general are being discussed in this article.

The first thing that is going to compromise food safety standards is personal hygiene. There are reasons why hand washing is a must, and when employees don’t do that, germs get onto the food. Hair that isn’t properly held back can get into food too. And when an employee comes to work when they are sick, those germs can also get into food. It’s easy to see why personal hygiene is a big concern when it comes to food safety standards.

The next thing that has to be dealt with when thinking about Food safety standards is cleanliness. Everything that is going to touch the food or come into contact with it has to be cleaned thoroughly. Anything that will be used to cook the food or prepare it has to be spotless. Tools should be cleaned at the day’s beginning, when there’s a c chance of cross contamination, and when the day’s over. A really big concern is cross contamination when you are in food service.

Cooking is the next concern in food safety standards. This involves close monitoring of cooking temperatures. The temperatures can’t be too low or else it won’t kill the bacteria. That’ s the reason for temperature monitoring, so that the meat is safe to eat.

Another matter of importance in food safety standards is pest control. The things that spring to mind when talking about pests are mice, but those aren’t the only concern. There are other pests that should be considered, because they are also of concern. The cockroach is one of the things to spring to mind. Most people are disgusted when they see these little disease carriers. Add them to ants and flies, and you know what other pest problems you can have.

The last point for food safety standards concern is proper refrigeration. This will make sure that the food stays fresh and ready to use. Proper temperature and storage are important to keep the food consumable. There are minimum temperatures for the freezer and refrigerator, so those should be maintained.

When it comes to Food safety standards, the ones that are listed above are the ones that you should be concerned about. If you aren’t paying attention to detail, someone can get sick from your restaurant.

No one wants to pay that price.
